Health tourism expenditure in the world is approximately 500 billion dollars. It is estimated that this figure will reach 1 trillion dollars in 2023.
Our country not only provides quality health services to its citizens, thanks to the quality health services it has achieved through the Health Reform Program in recent years, but is also among the priority countries. the world with the fastest growing health tourism potential. Our aim is to meet the needs of those who want to receive quality, fast and efficient medical services around the world, especially in neighboring countries. Our goal is to become one of the two top priority countries in health tourism and to reach $20 billion in annual health tourism revenue by 2023.
Our country has an important geographical position that attracts approximately 1 billion people and 57 countries with a 1-hour flight. Turkey is considered the best region for health tourism due to its easy access and being a national country serving most of the world's destinations (120 countries, 299 cities and 302 airports) like Turkish Airlines.
In addition to its highly specialized human resources, especially in the medical staff, its geographical structure, seasonal advantages, quality health service delivery, world-class technological and medical equipment, an affordable price advantage of up to 60% compared to Europe, thermal underground resources that are among the first in the world. Turkey, which is a shining star in the world with its young and dynamic population compared to the rapidly increasing elderly population in the world, and traditional Turkish hospitality in addition to all these, is one of the most preferred countries in health tourism.
